Zapruder Frame 1

Zapruder Frame 1 - First Zapruder Frame

Next: Frame 2

Frame “1” is not really the first frame, it is just the first frame in the motorcycle sequence. You can see at the very top of the frame that the previous frame is apparently from the footage Mr. Zapruder shot of the Hesters and Marilyn Sitzman in Dealey Plaza immediately prior to taking this motorcycle sequence.

There are many striking things about this “first” frame, such as how neatly the people are lined up in the foreground on the North side of Elm Street and in the background on the East side of Houston Street. Very few specifics are revealed in this frame. It’s hard to make out anyone’s face. In the foreground, and on the right side, the people are uniformly turned away. In the background, their faces are just too small to make out any detail. You can make out the text on the sign of the building in the background that says “PURSE & CO.”

Not much can be seen on the left side of the frame. There is a tree covering most of the left hand view and and nothing about the buildings north of the Purse & Co. is really visible.
