This video points out one of the most significant parts of the Zapruder Film – the splice between frames 132 and 133 where the action abruptly shifts from showing the lead motorcycles to showing the limousine after it completes its turn and has already started barreling down Elm street.

At this point in the film, the detail in black color reduces the dynamic range and contrast. Dynamic range refers to the full range of tones a film can reproduce, from the deepest blacks to the brightest highlights. Contrast refers to the separation between dark and light areas.

Not a lot has been said to explain this splice, and it has led to a lot of controversy.

In this short film, we see a comparison of the slides directly before and after the splice showing the reduction in black detail. We are looking at a comparison of Zapruder Frames 131-134.
